      • Planted my last 8 'Leidse Hangdown' Broad Beans from last year and a few of 'The Sutton'. Got stupidly excited about starting! Then looked at my garden and realised how much digging it needs...

            • Yeah,,, first seeds of the year, sown, Aquadulce, and Suttons, broadies. Compost was a bit soggy, so they may not germinate, they are in modules, in plastic house.

              And potted up some mint

                      • Sown today: 4 tsygansky baron pepper, 4 lipstick peppers, 12 padron peppers, 4 big jim (didn't germinate last year so am hoping this year is better), 4 hot fish, 5 royal black, 4 joe's long, 4 lemon drop, 5 aji fantasy, 4 trepadeira werner, 5 piquante/pepperdew, 4 rocoto orange manzano, 2 rosa bianca aubergines, 2 baby ophelia aubergines and 6 probably tomatillos but possibly dwarf cape gooseberries. Shouldn't watch the telly and sow seeds!

And of the elderly VSP chilli seeds: 6 kashmiri, 3 cyklon polish, 5 serrano tampiqueno.

                        YIKES!!

Whoops - went away for most of last week and missed this. I had 5 out of 12 facing heaven chillies come up, 3 of those are strong, and 2 look like they eon't make it. Are yours in yet?

                          • More sowing

Mid-Feb, so things move on. Sown tomatoes, plus some resows for chillies and peppers after some dodgy germination from ageing seed. Also leeks. The found I'd run out of compost for the onions. They'll have to wait a week.
