Have always done well with Suttons while other well know brands were poor. Thought I would try Aldi,s seeds so that I could try a bigger variety of flowers and veg. At 5 packets for £2 upwards not much to lose. Germination almost 100% over all. Surprised. Has anyone else used Aldi or Lidles seeds.

I have used "Lidl" seeds and they have been very good so far. Like yourself, germination pretty impressive!

    • Golden beetroot down the middle of seed bed so they can stay in place when others move on. Potatos but not sure if they count on this thread.
No matter:the allotment is lovely, the tadpoles have legs, my sea kale has germinated and I am glad to be home.

                • Sowed six, 8ft rows of parsnips. I station sowed 3-6 seeds and hopefully when all have germinated, I will thin out to the strongest one and be left with 120 parsnips to grow on.
                  Potted on loads of tomatoes!!!

                        • I've just sown a few rows of salady stuff, mixed leaf, rocket, radish's,spring onion, out on the plot, in full sun, so a 'warm' bed.

Do you think I should cover with fleece?
