Today I sowed Broccoli (Autumn) Green Calabrese, Pumpkin "Atlantic Giant" and lettuce "All The Year Round", all in pots / modules. The modules with lettuce in are now in a plastic bag in the fridge until tomorrow morning to guarantee fast germination. Hats off to whichever Grape taught me this trick!

Today I sowed a tray of lettuce,4 pots of lovage,8 more pots of runner beans 'celebration' & 12 dwarf sunflowers 'sunspot'. I have grapes growing for the first time in about 4 years of not knowing how to prune it properly & I still don't know but it should have a strong root system.Location : Essex

Sowed some brussel sprouts. Bit late, but just about okay, I hope. I only have room for one or two, preferably one. Do you need two for germination?
Also sowed some runner beans. Have to sow some french beans as well, but may not be able to manage that today.

My belief is that you only need a pollinator (Insects) if you want to save seed. As for growing Sprouts for food, you don't need 2 plants.Last edited by Bigmallly; 19-05-2015, 06:10 PM.sigpic“Gorillas are very intelligent, but they don't have to be as delicate as chimps -- they can just smash open the termite nest,”

Yesterday I sowed 4 Arran pilot seed potatoes that have been on my windowsill since February. They're not mouldy or rotten, green leaf starting to show,I think they'l be alright, couldn't throw them away, just incase. (What happened,is I harvested some & they're that nice, that I need endless supply).Location : Essex
