How about selling young plants and seedlings?

He can make some pots out of newspaper, buy some compost and seeds and then sell them for a few quid for some easy profit. Will give a quicker turnaround on his (your) investment than waiting for the produce

After reading all the other posts, I have to agree selling plants may be the way to go. You won't have to wait for the produce plus your young 'en will get his boots quicker.

Gotta agree with what others have said. If you're inner city where people don't have gardens then seedlings may not be popular, but where I am I'd certainly throw a few pounds at a kid selling his own seedlings and I'm sure others would jump at the chance.

Don't stop at veg either. Sweat Pea, Nasturtiums, Pelargonium's etc are always popular.

Yeah! Think I'd air to the plant n seedlings side too!

We have a bit of a "Plant Sale" on Lottie! Late spring! Opened to "Joe Public" n tell ya what, we can never have enough tomato, cucumber and courgette plants to fill demand from the local half hearted gardeners who are not willing to put in the time n effort us "Silly Beggars" do!

And at a "Quid" a plant/seedling it doesn't take much to build a little healthy pot!

So 4 24 cell trays at a quid apiece!

          knocking on a "Oner"

          I'm in the wrong business!

Good luck to young Lad too!
