Monty Don is a very popular celebrity gardener - what have you learnt from him over the years and why do you find his veg garden (Longmeadow) so inspiring?
Please note your replies may be used in the April issue of GYO.
Many thanks,

I like Monty as a presenter, even though I find it difficult to relate to Longmeadow as my garden is about 20ft square!
I do find the white writing garden inspiring, and am planning on trying something similar in my back garden with a soft mostly white palette. I'll add some pastel colours though, I can't live completely without colour.

I've just seen this so too late to contribute to April's edition and my comments are not solely about his vegetable garden.
I really enjoy watching Gardener's World now that Monty Don is presenting it. Monty is what I term "earthy", so very appropriate for a gardener!
He keeps things simple and doesn't blind you with science or bore you to death by keep stating the long complicated/original names of plants, he is not frightened to get his hands dirty, he deals with everyday, and sometimes very simple, tasks. I like gardening but I am not really 100% dedicated but he encourages me forward.
Also he works extremely hard, given his medical history, which I find inspiring. I am convinced that his creation of a pond recently is to show people how to do it and not that he really wanted a pond.
He looks so comfortable at Longmeadow and in a recent programme when he was sitting on the grass just enjoying the view, I would have loved to be sitting with him.
Being a dog owner, I also enjoy, and can relate to, his antics with Nigel his dog - so much fun! He chatters to his dog as he works, much the same as most of us do who own dogs. I love having my dog around me as I work, a great companion and one that doesn't tell you what you should or should not be doing.
Monty is his own man and will not comply because he ought to. He has values and sticks by them. To me he is a national treasure and long may he continue to present Gardener's World.

Not at all keen on Monty and prefere his dog.Surprised how many tall hedges he has in his garden as it seems to make it look very gloomy, unless that's just the impression on TV. I enjoy watching other presenters more such as Carol Klein,Alys Fowler even Alan Titmarsh. My favourite treat is to creep down on a Sunday morning and watch Beechgrove garden.Learn far more from that.Gardening forever, housework whenever!
