Mine seems to be whatever gets sown/transplanted first followed by whatever's ready to go in when that comes out.
Not really got the hang of successional planting or catch cropping yet.

bearded bloke if you referring interplanting when you are referring to catch cropping I have used that before with several crops. radish and carrots are common example of this by the time carrots sprouts the radish are harvest which is also succession cropping. Planting the beans among dwarf peas works well
dwarf varieties give you crop all at once which is an advantage.
early peas and early bean varieties help when do such quick succession such as the pea, bean, pea here.
Most of my succession crops are two crops; one after the same space over one season.

I have PSB and winter onions in at the mo. And half my patch empty. They will soon be joined by potatoes and perhaps some kale.
Once the potatoes come out, I'll replace with beans of one type or another growing up a bunty frame to maximise my use of space, and maybe some sprouts if room. PSB for harvesting next year will replace the onions.
Replacing this year's PSB will be carrots and parsnips. I'd like to fit in some cauliflower but I'm not sure I have room.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.
Which one are you and is it how you want to be?
