Vegetable Seeds : Early Sweet Pepper Seed

Realseeds have them, the fourth one down.
    Hope that helps

Has anyone ever tried this variety outdoors?

I grew some last year that I got in a seed swap. They didn't do very well for me, but then I'm not exactly in the north. Maybe our summer was too hot for them.

Never, but the bold lettering on the pack that says "selected for cooler growing conditions" made me choose it. I've never seen that before & I've grown some good peppers outdoors.

Try any of the eastern European ones Hungarian etc - Greenhouse is best but a sheltered spot protected as much as possible as late as possible.

Although I am further south than you I have had good results with sweet banana pepper.

I use the shelter of tomatoes, basil, petunia, marigolds & geraniums, they're great companions to deter/confuse some insects & encourage the beneficial ones. Iv grown a couple in the open too on top of my patio table (to get away from slugs) it did work, small pots tho, small peppers.
