Having said that I'm vague on forcing ... I take that to be the sort of forcing where you dig the root up and put it somewhere warmer to force it, rather than chucking a bucket over it for a month.
Yes, they put it in a warm candlelit barn of some sort, however I'm more likely to be using a bucket, when the time comes (though candlelit picking sounds lovely and romantic, I currently find myself distinctly barn-less)
I chucked a bucket over mine about a month ago when the buds were barely visible above the soil. I now have a few shoots about 4 inches high and a much nicer pink than the usual greenish red. I've not done this before so I am not 100% sure what to expect, but looking promising so far.

The pinks shots you've got are "it" They will be sweeter (and probably longer) than if you had not bucket'ed them
I love the look of the old fashioned terracotta rhubarb forcing pots ... never seen any that I wanted to afford though (�60-ish ). Supposedly (compared to a bucket) removing the lid encourages the stems to elongate towards the light.
