Each year I try to sow some seeds and each year I fail miserably so this time I'm going to do it all by the book beforeI give in! What I want to know is, if I've germinated seed in a heated propagation and then potted them on for the first time, at what point can they go outside in a grow house? Of course, any other hints and tips gratefully received!

It depends on whether your plants are tender/HHA, or hardy, and how light/warm your "grow house" is (what is that? a blow away?)
Seed success depends hugely on the availability of light, so if like me your coldframe/green house is shady in winter, delay sowing until the clocks go forward.
Warmth is less important, to hardy plants at least, and it's no good at all giving seedlings warmth if they don't have enough light- and most windowsills aren't light enoughAll gardeners know better than other gardeners." -- Chinese Proverb.
