hi how do people support there broad beans last year i used small canes any ideas

Mine also in a block, in the assumption they'll support each other in a gust. A few snapped in super-high-two-week-gales, but they recovered

I plant in 2 double rows,with canes at strategic points ,then spend ages weaving string around them in some daft,complex pattern!
I haven't planted in a block as I wonder if you get more of a problem with chocolate spot/ more difficult to harvest?Guess it will also depend on which variety you grow.My Aquedulcia Claudia grow very tall ( and floppy!) sometimes.Gardening forever, housework whenever!
