Mine are planted in a block, canes at each corner, and occasionally down the line, then I use string all around the block and across to form a grid. I'm in a windy spot...so perhaps overkill.

I do the same thing as Scarlet with extra string going from corner to corner like a X it seems to hold my beans well enough.

Mine also in a block, in the assumption they'll support each other in a gust. A few snapped in super-high-two-week-gales, but they recovered

I plant in 2 double rows, with canes at strategic points ,then spend ages weaving string around them in some daft, complex pattern!
I haven't planted in a block as I wonder if you get more of a problem with chocolate spot/ more difficult to harvest?Guess it will also depend on which variety you grow.My Aquedulcia Claudia grow very tall ( and floppy!) sometimes.

I plant dwarf ones so they don't need supporting!
