  • Calling 'Alice/Snadger/Superprout-Japanese Onions

Last January I posted a thread about Japanese Onions--You were very helpul with advice and asked me to let you know how I have got along with them--
Well, I harvested some of them this week (the size of a Tennis Ball) and they are a great sucess and so tasty too!!I shall harvest them when I want them for cooking. They didn't take much looking after and I will be growing them again later this year--Can they be grown again in the same patch or should I move their position this year? Thanks once again to the three of you--Kathie

Hi Kathie, thanks for letting us know how the Japanese onions got on - glad it was good. Very flattered that you remembered the reply.
I can't see any specific reason why you can't grow again in the same place, just fertilising with a general purpose fertiliser. But if you can I think it is always good practise to move the crops round.
Do let us know what else you are growing and how it is doing.

From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.

      Hi Kathie,
Robinsons Seeds famous for their "Mamoth Onion" strain say on their web site that they have been growing onions on the same ground for 140 years which is even older than me So if it suits you to keep them in the same spot I'd go for it.
It's not the growing old I mind but the growing stupid with it!
