I have started my peas in gutters in my polytunnel. They are about 10cm tall now. Is it too early to plant outside? I am in the South (hampshire)

When do you plant out peas?

I will be planting mine out soon. They were sown in the greenhouse, have been in the cold frame for a while. When they go out, they'll be under a mesh tunnel, mainly to keep the pigeons off but also for a bit of frost protection. These are Meteor, which are an early variety.
Which variety are they and have they been hardened off? If you add your location to your profile, you won't have to keep saying where you are!

I planted my Meteor peas out last weekend at about 4 inches high. They are protected from the worst of the wind by a fence and an angled sheet of polycarbonate, and they seem fine.A life is like a garden. Perfect moments can be had, but not preserved, except in memory. LLAP. - Leonard Nimoy

Have Early Onward peas in cells in the greenhouse. I wont put them out for another few weeks yet.
And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

Mine (Champion of England) have been out for a week now. They were hardened off in the cold frame for two-three weeks. I was amazed to see that theyve actually started growing out there.... Wind had snapped one at least at the base though :-( they are protected by orange safety mesh only. I am in sunny(?) Hampshire though!
