Buttercup are nice although I always prefer to leave them to mature as I want to store them. If I pick them immature I don't have any / many later.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

I'm going to grow many. As I really like them mature, as well.

I plant mine towards the end of April to plant out in May. I simply don't have the space to house huge plants under cover. I do adore courgettes though, both eaten young just fried in butter and older, made into soup. I find they make a good base for soup with other veg as they thicken it nicely without overwhelming the flavour. I'm still eating my soups from last year - courgette, courgette and tomato, courgette and carrot, courgette and kohlrabi, courgette and spring onion, courgette and runner bean...

        Yum
