  • Too wet for potatoes

I have the pictured piece of ground that is quite wet. I had ear marked it for potatoes. Last year it had leeks and onions.

My worry is that the potatoes will rot

Unless it's so waterlogged that the potatoes will actually be sitting in a pool of water, I expect they will be fine.

It might be waterlogged now but in a months time it will be perfect for potatoes. If the spuds are sprouted they shouldn't rot if you put them in now.

Actually it doesn't look that wet. Another point leeks and onions do not like badly drained land. Onions IMO are more susceptible to bad drainage than spuds.
