Lovely green top growth, lovely sized carrots under the soil but............ when I cut into the ones with the slightly thicker stems they are sooooooo tough and inedible. why?
Actually I'm not too good on where you are with seasons as obviously it's a bit different in Spain to the NW of the UK. Are these left over from last year in which case they're probably just old or early ones for this year?
Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.
I find if you sow carrots too early they go very hard and tough and then bolt. I suspect this is what has happened to you. Some of them might still be ok. I had this problem with some I sowed in February last year - they were bolting by June.
