can I plant out my sprout seedlings?

My early March sown Evesham special are still In the greenhouse in a seed tray and from checking the pack it says to plant out after risk of frost.
I was under the impression that they are frost hardy plants, I can appreciate a few day old seedlings being.susceptible to damage but surely 1.5 month seedlings with a few sets of leaves and 10cm tall will be OK??
I don't want to plant them out and have a frost finish them off.
Can someone assist me with my confusion as the Web makes it seem like I can plant them out now?

Harden them off well and by the time you have done that the temperatures should be OK. If in doubt don't plant them. Worth the wait.

I don't mind waiting but if they will grow better in the ground id rather plant them. I just wasn't sure if the frost would kill them or not, that's my predicament.

Have you potted them on since they germinated? Perhaps they could go into 3 1/2" pots to grow on.

To be honest I didn't think of doing that. Seems like a good option to hold off for frosts to pass either way.

I always get mine a decent size before planting out so they're big enough to scare off slugs, by then the heavy frost threat has passed too

Unfortunately and very surprising for me and my non ability to grow seeds, my sprouts - red bull and evesham seeds romped into being without any problems so....although I know its far too early for them I wanted to give my brave little soldiers a chance and planted them out 2 weeks ago. Yes I can hear the gasps from here but they are doing OK - bigger than they were and settled in well.
I do have some more seedling growing in the porch as a just in case and to extend the picking season out a bit.
However I think that I have been lucky to get them this far at this time of year.

Hope your joy continues. Did you sow indoors or under glass and then plant them out into a patch?

They started off in the porch, which I suppose acts like an unheated greenhouse. Potted them up into 3in pots and when they got to about 4in I decided to risk it. Checked on them today, they are outside (no hardening off - yes more gasps) and under bug mesh - they look great.
However, please don't take my chaotic growing techniques as the best - sometimes they they are not. I was just lucky.

I have hispi,greyhound,cauliflower,kailaan, aztec broccoli,magenta orach and kale seedlings out in the open- they seem to be ok though i have fleeced the kailaan once. Am crossing my fingers now I have read this thread.
