Pea problem (veg!)

I've been given pea plants which I've planted now. However I've grown peas before and can't seem to stop the pea moth, whose handiwork makes me gag when I open the peas!
If I fleece or cover them how will the bees pollinate them ? I know earlier crops can avoid the critters but don't think I'll manage that now.
I thought sugar snaps avoided pea moth but now understand they don't and we don't open them do we. So I could have ingested critters galore
How do commercial growers avoid them ?
Goodness doesn't this continual fight against Mother Nature exhaust you? It's like trying to get one over on her all the time. Good job she's so spectacular.

Peas are self-pollinating so you can cover them with enviromesh or fine netting

peas are self fertile bobbin, so you can fleece them and still get pods.

Ifind it helps to think of my battles with beasties as a game of chess....it helps to think of it terms of puzzles and challenges rather than all out war.

I didn't know that peas self pollinated. Thank you for your help. I prefer sugar snaps so does the self pollination apply to all peas. By that I mean sugar snaps, etc.?

Yes, all peas self pollinate, as do French beans
