  • Anybody bought a TomTato

I picked up a Thompson & Morgan TomTato plant yesterday from a local garden centre. It was a little more then I would have liked to have paid but I'm quite interested how it's going to grow. Should have been £9.99 but on offer with the gardeners club card for £7.99
    Has anyone else tried one?

I also picked up a grafted Suttons tomato plant, again I paid £7.99!! Can't remember what two varieties it grows.

Could someone please change the title. I'm using the iPad and it's changed the wording!
        It should read "anybody bought"

Bit expensive for my liking. Even at the discount price

I'm not sure about the idea because to get at the spuds you kill your tom which can keep fruiting really llate in the year. Also could you suffer from a double whammy of blight? I know tom and spud blight are related but...

I was more of a novelty purchase. I don't think I'll bother next year. But I'll keep you all up to date on how it goes.

There have been several threads about them but I don't know whether anyone has actually bought one before - or admitted to buying one

I have never tried them, but I know victoriana nurseries sell them at a more realistic price if anyone wanted to try https://www.victoriananursery.co.uk/Tomtatoes/

Unless you buy other goodies I don't tend to find it too difficult to spend money at victoriana

That's the saving well and truly spent then

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?
