some say the dried couch roots are dead. is it true?

  • #2
    Yes if fully dried

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

It'still one of the few roots that I would burn - even if you think it's dead.
.......because you're thinking of putting the kettle on and making a pot of tea perhaps, you old weirdo. (Veggie Chicken - 25/01/18)

Do make sure it's really dry though, it is very good at pretending to be dead when it's not

We dig the main clumps out and put them upside down in the sun, but leave them all year....and occasionally burn them to make sure they are dead

Drowning them is another option. Leave weighted down in a bucket of water for a few weeks then compost - or supposedly you can mix half and half with grass clippings and leave in a black plastic bag to stew. Although either way you end up with a bit of a stinky mess :/
