So, following good advice from this forum, I overwintered a few chillies on my sunny western window ledge (cool at night). I am absolutely thrilled with the result and have fruit developing on my Aji lemon (lots!), ring of fire, espelettes and even a couple of Hungarian Hot wax from a plant that was hiding under the Aji Lemon. Compared to waiting patiently till the first fruits develop in late summer on new plants, this makes using chillies for curtains over winter more than worthwhile.
The plan was to move them to the blowaway on the patio. But...well...I hadn't quite realised just how huge they are! The question is- as mature plants, can they manage without being hardened off? Tomorrow is set to be a bit of sun and a bit of cloud here. I am accident prone and the likelihood of me dropping them, bashing into doors etc is quite high if I try to move them in and out for a few days. (This is the sort of luxury problem I am chuffed to have btw)
