  • Polytunnel maximising yield

Hi all, I am new to this and had my first crop from my polytunnel last year. It has 4 raised beds 3 ft deep in it with a narrow aisle. I had quite a nice crop but most of the space was taken up with non edible parts of the plants. What is the best high yield vegs in a limited space please?

Generally you get better yield per space from plants that grow vertically

    Tomatoes, Cucumbers, french/runner beans etc,

also I always seem to be able to get more crops in If I use the square foot gardening method.

You can hang baskets/troughs with trailing toms and strawberries from the frame to use any 'dead' space in the upper half of your tunnel. Or make hanging shelves with pots on for smaller plants like chillies. Just be careful not to create so much shade that it affects your plants underneath.
