Keep them on a light windowsil, ignore the wife when she tells you to get rid of the dried up twig in the pot, squish any aphids, water sparingly and cross your fingers till Spring.

I have a problem on one of my chilli plants, it has an infestation of small almost white aphids (think that's what they are) the leaves are very sticker to touch? Any idea what they are and how to get rid of them ??

I would have thought if you can see white then they have shed their skin. Have another look you may find they have been and gone. I would think you are best to wipe or remove sticky leaves for mould/ fungus reasons but I might be making that up. Hopefully an aphid expert will be a long shortly.

Whiteflies are aphids, they secrete a sticky substance that attracts dirt, eventually the leaves will look dirty. Are they indoors? A few days outside, in this heat will help to get rid of them. Blast as many off as you can first with some water.

Since the have already started 'bushing out' of their own accord, I'd say there is no need for pinching the tips out?

                        Might be wrong though!

Seems to be quite common this year for chillies to branch of their own accord - not only chillies, but tomatoes too!

Anyway, here's some of my chiilies this year

From front to back - Orange Habenero and Sctch Bonnet in the growbag, then Thai Chilli to the left and Prairie Fire to the right. Can just see Banana Peppers poking out behing the Melons

                                Another Thai Chilli

What do you get if you divide the circumference of a pumpkin by its diameter?
                                Pumpkin pi.
