Comfrey?

I want some comfrey on my plot!

I've been looking everywhere locally and can't find it in pot or seed. What do people recommend, should I order a pot online? Seeds online? Good suppliers?

is there no-one else on your allotments that has comfrey? If there is, beg a bit off them. Even a leaf will grow if you stick the stalk bit in the ground, doesn't have to be a bit of root, so long as you keep it well watered.

see if any has some bocking 14,it only grows and no seeding everywhere,it is only got by a snipit from another plant,

Our local allotments were selling them at the food and drink festival, 20p a pot so I'm sure you could beg some off someone

if all else fails do as i did, and try ebay. i can/t remember now but the seller sent me 10 cuttings to pot on. make sure they don/t seed type. they came by postman. and cost little. good luck.

I bought mine from Organic Gardening online. Bocking 14 is a must as it is sterile and will not seed everywhere. It is not very expensive.

Hi, I think i bought some cuttings from ebay (was a few years ago), but since then I found a large supply of free comfrey growing by the road side. So now I just stop off on the way home from work and snip some off for liquid fertiliser, compost bin and as a treat for my chooks

I am sure you'll find some next to a river or pond.

Thank you! I'll try eBay. Ours is a very small allotment site, no sales, maybe a dozen plots used for gardening (the rest for chooks) and I've not seen any on site. I wouldn't class my fellow plotterers as natural comfrey growers.
