Re-using compost from new potato tubs

Hello - newbie here - waving!

Quick and simple question hopefully. I've just dug up the first 2 tubs of new first earlies that were in tubs - timing was perfect as I have 3 pot courgettes waiting to plant out in the tubs.

Can I reuse the compost/soil the potatoes grew in? Any advice would be welcome!

Yes you can but it will need some feed adding such as blood, fish and bone or growmore or pelleted chicken manure.

^^^^^^^^^^ good advice above, remember courgettes are very hungry plants and you will need to supplementary feed them after about 5 weeks.

I've just done exactly that - Rocket potatoes out of bucket, refresh compost with a good dollop of BFB stirred in well, plant courgette in bucket.

I find courgettes in containers tend to get mildew earlier than those in the ground, so I would anticipate possibly using this bucket again in the autumn for a crop of overwintered carrots (under cover) or maybe oriental greens. I make my containers work hard!

Thanks all - just what I needed to hear, didn't want to have to recycle it, have plenty of blood fish and bone, plus have my own home made chicken manure based compost to mix in as well - will probably split the compost from the 2 potato pots into 3 courgette pots and top up.

Just note you may get potatoe plants popping up, Its almost impossible to get all the little tiny ones out. Mind you they re easy to pull up.
