Not sure, first year growing them myself this year and mine have been growing a couple of months (though still fairly small) I would think that they could be sown still, but you'll get a late harvest and you'll do best to pick a variety suited to a late sowing.

Why not try a few?
It'll be interesting to see how they do, and when they crop.
I would suspect you'd have small sprouts in February?
If I recall you sow in April at latest for an Xmas crop.
Always good to have something growing over winter to cover the ground!

You can always buy a couple of plug plants rather than sow from seed.

Personally I think it's too late now for most winter brassicas, especially sprouts, if you're now only thinking if sowing. I sowed mine back in March and they've been in the ground for weeks now. The first year I grew them I didn't sow until late April and discovered it was far too late and the sprouts that formed were pin heads and if no use. You might be IK with plug plants if you can get hold of them but it's getting late for that too now if you want to harvest at Christmas. Some varieties can be down later but they're likely to produce later too.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Originally posted by Alison View PostNot grown it but according to the website the latest sowing date is mid May for a December harvest so I'm still not convinced it's a reasonable option. Although it can be fun to try things early or late sometimes you just need to accept that it's almost certainly going to end in disappointment and that the space could be better used for other crops. I'd say plug plants are the only real option and that's a bit iffy too, depending on variety.
