  • Its bubbling, mishapen leaves time again

I absolutely have no idea what causes this to happen to plants that grow for weeks and weeks fine and healthy until this time in July every year in soil in the borders and new compost in containers. Here are a few examples. The potato leaves have tiny holes.

Apologies as this site displays them the wrong way round yet again. I have no idea why that happens as they are uploaded the correct way.
Mod edit - I have flipped the photos so they should be the right way up now

The borage leaves are going brown for no reason. I do not use chemicals, pesticides etc. no manure in the last 6 years (see my other post)

The holes and bubbles are just pest damage.
To stop your photos from rotating when uploading crop them slightly first.

I wouldn't worry too much. No leaves will be perfect unless you grow them in a very controlled environment and drown them in chemicals. One thing I would say from your pictures things look a bit overcrowded.

They look fine to me, mostly they are a good, healthy green. As Roitelet says, no leaves will be perfect.

Not sure if the photos are the right way up, let me know if they need any more rotating.

I thought they looked OK too. Holes in leaves are inevitable and only matter if you intend to eat the bit around the holes!

My borage leaves have gone just the same Marb. Half of every leaf is browned. Nothing else in the garden is showing the same symptom. Borage is usually such a healthy, easy to grow, hard to kill plant. I'm mystified.

I've had a google around, and apparently, borage leaves tend to go brown if the air circulation is poor. So that's what is wrong with mine, they are rather squashed in between a lot of other stuff, much of it taller than the borage.

Yes things are overcrowded as I have a small garden and its hard to manage crops, especially as so e wont grow with others.

We haven't had much sun this year but there have been days when it has been very strong. My cumber leaves even though they are shaded has some sun scald.

I used to have this problem before I got my lottie. I lost lots of crops as a result of poor air circulation and them competing for water and nutrients. In the end I restricted what I grew each year and planted up less but got more, for less effort. Might be worth you considering as an option too?!?
