  • Wanted: garlic bargains and offers

Do any of you lovely grapes know of any bargains or offers on garlic bulbs?

The time has come that I buy all new stock and looking around everyone seems pricey, I know the last lot/ collection I bought was over 5 years ago and on offer any way, but one place I have found wants £30 plus £5ish p+p - its ruddy garlic

    Many thanks as always

i've had more success with stuff bought from the supermarket (or better still the super market abroad). i brought some back from spain that cost less than a euro and it did well, far better than the stuff i bought at the local garden center (especially considering it's meant to be temperamental about the soil)...

I grew a supermarket one for several years as I thought it was lovely and it did well. However I find a lot of supermarket garlics really strong and bitter and I wouldn't want to eat it let alone grow it. It would be nice if supermarket high up people tasted some of the produce they sell sorry mini rant there, but yes if you find a good one keep hold of it, grow it and never let it go

The garlic farm is expensive - but it's an investment as you can save the bulbs for years. They often do the veg/food shows so you don't need to pay postage.
