Any red outdoor tomatoes yet?

Looking at some picture I took form previous years I seem to have had red tomatoes on mid to late July, however I am fairly sure that is becasue I type the wrong date into my phone ie putting in a 7 for August when I should have put in an 8.

Not red because they are Sungold. But had my first four really ripe tomatoes today. So sweet and delicious. If only the weather would provide a bit of sunshine there would be loads more. They are growing in the ground and those appear to be earlier than the ones in pots.

Outdoor girl are the only outdoor ones that have alot of red tomatoes on, the rest just have the odd one or two.

Last year my outdoor toms were ready to pick from 3rd week of July. This year... nada yet.

My guess is it will take until August at the earliest to start picking any. Expect the overall crop amount will be lower too . Weather hasn't been too bad but not as glorious as it's been in the past couple years.

Problem is with the horrible weather I can see blight being a real problem this year, specially as everything is late.

I have had a few ripe ones. The problem I have is they are splitting due to the poxy weather.

Nothing going red on any of my tomato plants - and I check every day and utter words of encouragement to them ....

I sowed my tomatoes very early this year, and they've been outside for several months now. The plants are all sturdy and have had plenty of flowers, but the tomatoes seem to be stuck at the miniature green-bead stage. It's just so gloomy, wet and cold here, I can't see anything ripening unless the weather changes

Cant be far off now, got loads but they are all green.

Haven't even got any red ones in my tomato blow-away grow houses Come to think of it I haven't seen any allotment holders with red toms yet.

Plenty of green ones, a range of sizes so hopefully there won't be too big a glut.

Same as WPG here, loads of flowers and only a couple of fruits...all green. Growing the bush varieties.

Problem is with the horrible weather I can see blight being a real problem this year, specially as everything is late.

Normally I'd be worried about blight from August onwards, this year however the conditions don't appear to be conducive for Blight. This appears to be confirmed by very few reported incidents on the fight blight site compared to previous years and no one on here with any reports of blight yet.

There's been a noticeable lack of high humidity and warmth this year, both of which are needed for blight to thrive. I also think these bizarre never ending windy days we're having this year also help to prevent moisture building on the leaves and blight spores to germinate.

So it looks like we can't win either way. Either it's warm and blighty or cooler and slower growing toms. One thing is for sure though, It definitely would be refreshing not having to see that brown mess killing the tomatoes anymore even if it means a slightly reduced crop.

Had a few from the GH but only one Tumbler from the hanging baskets. Checked my records and I am at least 5 weeks behind a normal year.

I so far only have a few which are tiny and green and growing verrrry slowly. Fed up of this rubbish weather - although we've had about 3 inches of rain overnight so nice to have a few days off watering!
