One of my Sungold is starting to turn orange today

I have 2 Sandpoint just turning red outside - this is super quick as they went out as small plants in mid-June. Seeds from the greenhouse ones are festering away in a jar for adding to the VSP, if they aren't already in there.

...Just checked, they aren't. They are a really nice salad tom, semi-determinate and very, very early.

They sound great, sparrow Thanks for saving some for the VSP

No a bloomin sausage.......or red tom. The wind has taken a terrible toll on the hanging basket foliage. Plenty of flowers though and the outdoor Moneymakers have got some right beauty's on them. Just need better weather.

Green Zebra does change colour when it ripens, it goes a sort of yellowy green. It's normally pretty late though, it was one of my favourite varieties to grow back home in New Zealand but haven't had much luck with it as an outdoor variety here.

In that case, they're all still green. Not a hint of yellow.

I have my list of tom seeds for the VSP - if they get ripe that is! Just need to get my 50 posts in 3 months bit to qualify

My red tomatoes

finally got to post my dish of red tomatoes (green hoouse)

Looking at my pics from last year, we didn't get red toms until nearly the end of August

Yes that has been my experience in the past, however......




I started some plants earlier than normal this year however they didn't seem to like the early start, looked a bit manky, (most picked up a bit though) but I do have my first red tom!!

Didn't look yesterday as was raining but must have been reddening then too.

You can see a lot were not fertilised.

Yours on the left look like my ripe white cherry. Do you have 2 varieties in there?

^^^^^^^^No that's one Tumbler, it's just that some are ripe and some are only just turning.

I don't even have fruit yet...only flowers but lots of them.

^^^^^^^^^^One of the problems with living up north, you get the longer days in the summer but can sometimes struggle for warmth.
