  • Flowering Garlic? Harvesting Garlic

My garlic should be ready to harvest soon, but the leaves haven't started wilting - in fact it looks like it is developing lumps in the tops of the shoots -like flowers starting to develop.
What do i do, cut those off and wait for the leaves to wilt?
    thanks!

Sounds like it is starting to Bolt. Maybe pull a couple up and see what they look like. Could be they are ready.

Mushroom, yes cut them off and eat them. Very tasty and now being served in posh restaurants.
Mine were at that stage a few weeks ago and I lifted them today. Absolutely delighted with the crop. Great big bulbs and split into great big cloves. Just need to get them all dried off now.
Roast garlic with the lamb tonight

The flowering part is called a "rombacole" mushroom and is perfectly normal. cut them off as people have said and once your foilage starts to brown off, lift, dry and store for use.
