Good Morning to you all, my question is, can I use used chicken bedding in my raised beds and if so, what veg would I then be able to grow?

I used to put it on my compost heap, and it made magic compost that was spread over the veg beds in the autumn, and it gave us large crops of just about everything, this year has been the pits but that's been all the poor weather, we are on our 3rd dry/sunny/warm day in a row and that's a record for this year, and the night temps forecast for this evening is around 3deg, in the middle of august, just shows that generally summer never turned up...

Chicken pop is very strong...needs a good few months to mellow before you let it near anything growing!
(for future reference, I use aubiose hemp horse bedding for my chooks which I think gives the best compost and makes for the comfiest chooks, just my opinion of course)

Anything that requires high nitrogen will do well providing that the stuff is not too fresh. Don't use it where you are going to plant potatoes it encouraged scab.Gardening requires a lot of water - most of it in the form of perspiration. Lou Erickson, critic and poet
