I looked at my aldi cauliflower plants a couple of weeks ago and the biggest was the size of a tennis ball, so I really gave up on them, given the appalling weather this year, and due to the cold/damp I never rechecked, so I was surprised when OH said I needed to have a look yesterday and found that of the 6 plant heads the smallest was just over 8ins (200mm I think) across and all looking real beauties, I have never grown them before and only did this year as the greenhouse was being moved just when I would be sowing my seeds for the year, so I bought some young plants for the first time in 30 odd years. we pulled 2 to go into the freezer and after blanching they made 14 double portions bagged up ready for use, after all the nonperformers this year it is a real bonus...

around here they have no option.. but...

yesterday was forecast to be blanket gloom and rain, we had the best day of the year, it got past warm and was actually "hot" and we really enjoyed it even if it was like a trip down memory lane..
