Clear out what I can in the polytunnel. I had some runner beans in there. They grew really well but were as stringy as very stringy thing so weren't that nice.
Pull up the beetroot that were in there too - not really sure what to do with them - they are huge. There are about 30 plants.
Chilies are doing ok now - eventually - I'm hoping they ripen over the next month or so. There's about 70 plants that survived and about 12 varieties.
Tomatoes did not do that well this year. Still quite a few to ripen off but I may start weeding out some of the less productive plants soon to make room.
I made the mistake of planting 8 cape gooseberry plants in the tunnel and they now take up about a quarter of it - lots of fruit on them - lets just see if they ripen. Not so many of those next year.
The pumpkin plant is similar - it's huge with 4 reasonably sized pumpkins on it. Hopefully they will last until Halloween, but boy does that thing eat up space.
Cucumbers were a huge success - most were about 2 foot long and about 4-5 inches thick. Real whoppers. - but again a space hungry hog of a plant.
I think come November time I'll completely empty the tunnel and plan for next year
