I wouldn't sow for at least another couple of weeks, in a good year, and according to forecasts it's not going to be reliable warm until mid-May

Last year I sowed about 8 celebration runner beans on the 14th April they had wind protection outside when I planted them (bamboo sticks with doubled up fleece wrapped around & closed at the top at night). A couple of the lower leaves had to be removed but all the new growth was alright, they climbed the bamboo, there was onlŷ a couple of cold days that i thought oh no! but they were all fine. I also added a later sowing to the teepees they were on,so you get a kind of second flowering,it extends the bean harvest into October maybe November.
Edit to add- There's photos of them on the 2015 calendar,i've just been looking back,May 14th they were in the blow away,I remember they got to about 1' tall then I planted them out....

I hope you like Blue Lake, I'm growing from a line of seed that was originally saved by my grandad, passed to my dad and then on to me. I save some seed every year to start the next season.
