  • Mayflower cauli

Went to a market yesterday, found a plant stall,
and bought a dozen 6" high Mayflower seedlings.
Do I plant then under cloches or fleece for the
winter, or are they hardy enough to survive
    unprotected?

If you have any fleece or netting handy Pete, it would be a good idea to cover them. Overwinter undercover.

Cauliflower 'Mayflower' is the earliest summer cauliflower of all! Ready to cut from mid May to early June. Mayflower produces delicious tender heads up to eight inches across.
To achieve this, sow January in warmth growing on in 31/2in/9cm pots before planting outside in late March.

They are hardy but my cauliflowers are under net tunnels to protect from butterflies and pigeons, which gives them a bit of protection from the cold as well.
