Does anybody know what kind of lettuce I have here? Appears to be two different kinds.

    Cheers for any help.

The red one is Lollo Rossa a cut and come again type.

The green one I don't recognise for sure

You'll have to give us a bit more to go on ...

(edit) sorry, pics have appeared now

I think I've grown these. The packet is Mr Fothergill's Lettuce Salad Bowl Red & Green Mixed.

The description says "Attractive oak leaves, pick individually or as whole heads. In a footnote on the packet it says "Contains Lettuce: Salad Bowl and Red Salad Bowl in equal quantities."

I agree it looks more like salad bowl than lollo rossa which is a bit more frilly at the edges. It definitely looks like a cut and come again type rather than a hearting type.

            hello
I agree with "salad bowl oak leaves" . My veg.seller on marketplace assured me a few years ago that they =feuilles de chêne in Fr. were the easiest salads to grow for a beginner , as they don't shoot up.. Exactly! Good to Cut leaves as needed. They show up nicely as a base for dwarf tomatoes,or lightly toasted bread and slightly melted (not mature) goat cheese. @+PBline
