Tall Sugar Snaps

I've been growing Super Sugar Snap peas for a few years, from saved seed originally from a UK supplier. This year I've just had too much mildew and the seeds are no good for saving.
Now I can't find a supplier in the US that will ship to the UK (with normal international postage)
(I did find one supplier but they wanted to add an extra $14 to the order, despite it only being 1 pkt. )

I know we can get ordinary tall Sugar Snap in the UK but Super Sugar really is better - if I can find them somewhere.
My back really doesn't like picking from shorter plants

Thanks, but I have tried Sugar Ann before, but it didn't grow tall.
Most other suppliers list the height for SA as only 75cm

Have you tried Sugar Lord? Apparently it grows to 150cms.
I have some very old seeds - sow by 12/2004 I''ll put some in with your VSP seeds if you want to try them.

Snap Peas or rounded, thick walled Pea Pods.

These are thick walled pea pods where the whole pod is cooked and eaten while the pod is young and tender and will snap across easily. If you leave the pods to mature, you can use as a shelling pea, but the flavour is not as good. Some seed catalogues list Snap Peas under “Mange Tout”.

Suggested varieties.

Sugar Lord. Grows up to 2 m in height, so best grown up pea netting. A heavy cropping variety with large, sweet, succulent crunchy thick-walled pods. Sadly, it does not seem to be readily available, possibly because tall varieties do not seem to be in fashion.

If they do germinate - think I'll have to grow some in the greenhouse to make sure I get some seed to save ! Wish me luck

Did you have any luck with the Sugarlord peas, Thelma? I've just tried some and they've rotted. I'll try some on paper but not feeling hopeful

Tried just a couple ages ago, which rotted

And it is till too cold here to try again yet! I'm still waiting for perfect weather and hoping for a miracle
