First harvest from my lottie

Thought I'd have a firkle around the spud patch and see how far off they were from cropping. Soon as I moved a few inches of soil there was a whopper begging to be dug up and eaten, so I took up one of the plants and this is what lay beneath.



Rather pleased with them.

Still got another 6 plants to harvest.

Sarpo Mira variety, and if they taste as good as they look I think I'll be growing them again next year!

Jacket Spuds for tea tonight, score!

Shame my Sweet Corn is not gonna make it this year, planted a little late sadly due to only taking on the plot late Spring. Great plants and some huge cobs; but the cobs are just not ripening and the Badgers are starting to get in amongst them.

Yeah, not matured, still tiny and whitish.

Jacket spuds with Chicken Curry and it was amazing!

Nice and crispy skins, fluffy inside, deffo growing again next year.

Hope the others yet to be harvested have the same crop underneath as if so; I'm set for a while for spuds, profit!

The seeds were only £2.49, think I doubled my money on the first lot dug up heh!

Think I may have to make a Beef in Guinness this week and do some roasted spuds to go with it. *dribble*

Well done nice spuds. My sweet corn was planted at the right time but it just didnt grow vigorously then something started eating the silks ( tiny snails and wood lice) the result is that only the bottom half of each cob is useable. From 30 plants i have 28 half cobs, very dissapointing.
