Thought I'd have a firkle around the spud patch and see how far off they were from cropping. Soon as I moved a few inches of soil there was a whopper begging to be dug up and eaten, so I took up one of the plants and this is what lay beneath.
Rather pleased with them.
Still got another 6 plants to harvest.
Sarpo Mira variety, and if they taste as good as they look I think I'll be growing them again next year!
Jacket Spuds for tea tonight, score!
Shame my Sweet Corn is not gonna make it this year, planted a little late sadly due to only taking on the plot late Spring. Great plants and some huge cobs; but the cobs are just not ripening and the Badgers are starting to get in amongst them.
