So many seed potatoes to choose from

I enjoyed my rockets this year - I left them in for ages as they were still green - and they were a decent size and still producing!

Next year I'm trying Swift, Hunter and Charlotte - all in the large grow bags from marshalls and all will just get shoved in when I have the time / impatience

the red duke of York were so so this year, but the salad blue were great, roasted, with some black/blue French beans and purple carrots, to go with a nice joint....mmmmmmm, time for lunch I think..

Don't think any variety is running away as people's favourite. I think I might give hunter a go this year

Out of interest has anyone tried growing potatoes from potato seed?

Note the intentional order of the words potato and seed. I'm referring to what I believe is often referred to as true potato seed.

My first year on my Allotment I grew International Kidney as I wanted waxy salad potatoes, the first handful I grubbed out were great . . . but after that they seemed to fall apart when boiled, was such a disappointment.

So this year I was determined to get waxy spuds . . . so I planted Anya and Belle de Fontenay . . . I was late chitting and late planting but the 2 rows I have harvested have each yielded approx 3.5kg from 9 plants, and they have all been waxy so far, so I'm very happy.

My only gripe, and its a small one, some of the Belle de Fontenay are a little large for a salad spud, they are nice roasted though
