BM - I have fleece at the ready 😉 (although I might invest in some sturdier stuff)
MH - Thanks for your encouraging reply. This is my first year of growing anything so to me they looked like they were just about ready for the compost heap when compared to the lush green potato "trees" I had not too long ago.

I had a similar expierence a couple of years, one night's hard frost completely blackened and killed off all the foilage on my winter spuds and they were in a raised bed in the polytunnel, they had by this time flowered and I just cleared off the dead haulms and left the tubers in they ground. I had a fine crop for Christmas and well into January. Yours don't look that bad at all , but I would certainly put a fleece cover on at night, multible if you have it. My dad used to cover his with a thatch of bracken leaves before the advent of fleece. As they have flowered they will die back naturally over the next few weeks anyways.

Thanks Meteor. Much happier about the spuds now. They'll probably be harvested just as my current harvest of Maris Pipers is running out, so more to look forward to, although they're a different variety. I've covered them tonight as the skies are clear again after a cold front moved through earlier on today so I'm expecting a chilly night for the spuds.

Good move TM, it's forecast 3 degrees overnight where I am.
