Thought it might be useful to list seed varieties that are suitable for multiple sowing throughout the year

Here are a few examples:-

All Year Round Cauliflower - Sow Jan to Feb under glass. March to May outdoors and Sept to Oct in coldframes to over winter.

All Year Round lettuce - Sow March to August to harvest April to October, it can also be sown in autumn to overwinter if protected.

"Quick heading" Calabrese or Broccoli (Real Seeds). Sow from mid-March for early crop in May/June. Sow April/May outdoors. Sow in late August/September in GH or PT for early crop in new Year.

Lots of herbs - mint, basil, coriander - although need to be inside / under cover I suppose?

Perpetual spinach covers most of the year?

There are leeks for all time of the year, although not the same variety I don't think.
Yes, perpetual spinach does well all through the year.

Thank goodness there isn't an all year round courgette (except in supermarkets!) love 'em but it is nice to have an off season, too.

I'm growing the lettuce Marvel of the Four Seasons which has done OK since April so it'll be interesting to see how it does through the winter with minimal protection. I've sown it about every 6-8 weeks.

Why am I asking this?
Just wondering whether you could buy just one packet of say lettuce and cabbage to sow at intervals during the year instead of buying one variety for spring sowing, and another for autumn sowing etc.
Trying to simplify things and reduce costs too!

I guess your sprouting seeds and micro greens, but not what you are really after.

I can´t remember if the radish´s worked last year for anybody in the UK, it did for me.

Could you do spring onion as well.

There's a variety of White Lisbon spring onions that are supposedly hardy down to about -10 so should be useable in spring and autumn/winter

I had my white lisbons in over winter last year (totally accidental) - it was overall a relatively mild winter, but we still had lots of frost and some snow - and they were there looking almighty impressive in spring!

Carrot Nantes Frubund Fastcrop (sow February to October)- I find sowings later than mid September don't do well though.
Most varieties of spinach can be sown from March to September, although summer sowings do tend to bolt.
Cabbage Pixie - sow indoors February to April, outdoors May to September

I think garlic can be planted any month of the year.

At least I've tried growing it by starting it in most months of the year but only had one decent crop and couldn't remember which month I planted it in!

Crumbs, VC. I've been going through this thread clicking like and thinking how great it is to see some of these familiar names back again. Then I spotted how old the posts are!

I'm going to by trying Oxhella carrots next year. I've been checking out seeds from a French supplier and they say Oxhella is an improved Chantenay type, good in heavy soils and suitable for spring, summer and autumn sowing. Sounds like just the job for me. I've seen them from the Seed Co-operative in the UK:

However, they say sow from April to mid-June.
