anyone growing potatoes in containers for Christmas?

I planted some potatoes in old plastic bins a few months back and they were looking great till about 2 weeks ago. Ive never grown them for christmas before so not sure what they should look like at this time of year. Anyone got any pics of theirs in containers just for me to compare, I would post a pic but Ive lost my phone

I can't help, sorry . I've never grown spuds for Christmas. I'm starting to wish I'd grown all my spuds in containers this year. I've lost over 50% to slugs and mice. That will teach me for planting in an unprepared bed!

At this time of year, the foliage will die off. Just leave them until Christmas then empty the bins and hope there are some potatoes in there.

I have 2 buckets of Charlotte planted in July. The foliage on one of the buckets has gone yellow and died, the other still looks green. The photo below shows it on 1st November, just about in the middle of the picture:

I'm growing Duke of Yorks again, which produced brilliant spuds last Christmas for us. Nothing much to see though I'm afraid - I cut the haulms off at the weekend and leaving them in their tubs in the polytunnel til xmas eve

We had a storm a few days ago and mine have really taken a battering. One tub had fallen over (i don't know how with the weight!!) and i got a couple of handfuls of lovely tiny spuds, great for a salad.
Just keep the watering going but not too much to rot anything, i think its normal for the plants to die back now.

Oh so its normal for foilage to die off it seems, thank god for that! Thought it was going to be another failure this year.
