    • Ok out of the 5 i planted, i have 1 nice looking baby plant and 1 still with just a root sticking out of the bottom.

Yesterday, i put some damn kitchen roll onto a plate and then spread out some nuts added another sheet of damp kitchen roll and hoped into a zip lock bag, who knows but i did not have time to plant them all up and thought i am only getting 10-20% germination rate so i will give it a go
I grow 70% for us and 30% for the snails, then the neighbours eats them

      • I'm a bit embarrassed - 100% germination. I have had them heated around 20 degrees though.

                  • Finally I've sown a couple of monkey nuts. They are in the tunnel with a cloche over them. I have more nuts to plant when it warms up if theses two don't do anything.

I think you'll find they need heat to germinate SP. Lisa, just wipe the mould off them.

                        • I sowed 12 nuts unheated & showed nothing, I put another 12 in the same modules in a heated prop & 4 sprouted. I took them out of the prop & the rest went into check so I potted up the 4 good ones then put the rest back into the heated prop & are now starting to sprout so warmth is a deffo IMO.

                          • Most of mine germinated in the heated prop. As soon as they were through I put them on the windowsill and, on fine sunny days, I'd carry them out into the GH and back in again at dusk.
However, about a week ago I forgot them and they've been in the GH ever since. Still alive - that's a positive
