I have one 3m x 1m raised bed and everything else gets grown in pots - as someone said pretty much anything can go in a pot as long as its the right size
I put small things (salad, radish, onions) at the front of the raised bed with tall things (peas, sweetcorn, cordon tomatoes, cucumbers) at the back - so maximising space
In pots I have / had more corn, bush tomatoes, strawberries (about to pot up some raspberries), chillies, peppers, courgettes, garlic and herbs (that I can remember) - potatoes I grow in grow bags.
Works perfectly well for me - you just need to be on top of your watering - but I had no problems this year at all
Just make sure there is adequate drainage in the pots or they'll get waterlogged
