I put all my "potable" plants into B & Q builders buckets, last year they were 99p, I picked up 3 packets of tom seeds in Italy, on holiday, and will be trying them out in buckets, and if they dislike our summer rain I can lift them into the greenhouse. the 3 packets were 2 euros, so I haven't been pushing the boat out, and they seem to have more seeds than we get in a packet here, one massive beefsteak, one "normal" size and one a large cherry size....if they need loads of sun I will be bu::::ed as we are still waiting for this years summer to start......

Absolutely - I do grow some of my tomatoes in bigger pots and some in the soil, but most of my growing space is very short of sunshine so I am using whatever tactics I can to maximize my yields.
