I was given the "tomato n chips" tomtato as a gift last year. The potatoes didn't grow too well but the toms were absolutely prolific and were some of the best I've ever tasted.
I agree that spending incredible amounts on plants like these defeats one of the purposes we do crop gardening to begin with. However I can see the appeal for those who are into novelty growing and want to try it out.
If anyone decides to grow one of these I'd love to hear their opinions on here how these aubergines compare to the standard ones.
Goodluck if anyone tries this, i can´t see it myself. Aubergines in the UK need greenhouse and i would love to know if anyone grows potatoes in the greenhouse.
Didn't know they were a bit fussy. I guess I should be thankful for the benefit of an urban climate as i've been able to successfully grow aubergines in my garden and don't use a greenhouse.
