    That's what I was thinking!

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

I love growing lettuce of all types, what i try to do is really over sow, 5 seeds to a cell and plant out and then just take them as cut and come again leaves, so much nicely having a variation of different leaves in a salad as well.

It is so funny when you read what people fail and succeed with, i seem to be great with my brassicas (once planted out ) i have had broccoli heads of over a kilo each this year and i cannot keep up eating them, even my cauliflowers are going great, but i cannot grow any beans to save my life i keep trying and bought different seeds, must have tried 20 different types. Even easy runner beans i cannot grow you cannot buy them in the shops either so really miss them.
I grow 70% for us and 30% for the snails, then the neighbours eats them

Weird, isn't it. I can grow runner beans without any problem, but I can't grow caulis to save my life.

I'm giving celeriac the boot as well.

Lots of care and fussing, then the only one that could have (maybe) filled an egg cup got hollowed out by a slug. That's the third, and final, attempt.

I have a full plot, and space for hit 'n miss veg, but not for miss 'n miss.

Its not as easy to grow as it's purported to be!

Not growing and never have because they are all completely inedible, unpleasant, nasty............ You get the idea

                  Celeriac
                  Radish
                  Sweet corn
                  Broad beans

Not growing because takes up to much space and takes to long to grow.
                  Early & late sprouting broccoli

Things at the last chance saloon.

I don't grow any alliums at the allotment, due to allium leafminer

But i'll try them in our new garden to see whether it has arrived there as well.

I'm in two minds about florence fennel - it's so faffy, and I can't seem to get it to bulb up at all!!!

I also don't grow any broadbeans, because I don't like them that much.

And I think after two unsuccessful years it's time to give up on carrots. First hardly any germinate, then half of them just wilt and die, and then the rest never fattens up.

Aubergines - they always get to the flowering stage and then just go mouldy and die off
Chillies - Well they were on my scrap list until my brother bought me some seeds for Xmas!

I've decided to give up on onions, too much white rot *sigh*

One less thing to worry about.

Last summer was my first attempt ever at growing veg and the one I won't be growing this year is radish! I tried three different types and just cannot get away with the flavour And Neil won't eat it either so despite it being dead easy to grow I'm not going to bother.

Lots of things I am going to try this year....simply because they're new to me No doubt in 12 months time I'll know what else I love and don't like at all

This will be my first year ever of not growing onions, I have gone over to all raised beds now I have retired, (making things easier to work on, no digging or bending down)so a lot of items I used to grow are for the chop. I always like to grow things that either expensive in the shops or are so much tastier picked fresh. So brassicas will be few and far between, carrots are heritage funny coloured ones, ditto beetroots. Sweetcorn I eat raw straight from the plant, so trying a dwarf variety I can give some cover to help with ripening. Don't usually grow lettuce as I prefer white summer cabbage instead raw, indeed I prefer all brassicas raw. Going against the grain and trying to grow celeriac along with Florence fennel for the first time in Scotland.
