Ran the hoe over the plot paths & raked them over ready for the turf to be laid on Friday. Just need a bit of rain before then.sigpic“Gorillas are very intelligent, but they don't have to be as delicate as chimps -- they can just smash open the termite nest,”

Planted out another tray of spring onions, weeded one of the raised beds. Raked over one end where some garlic and onions were, and sowed some spinach there.
Gave the leeks, parsley and spring onions (and my one cauli plant) a nettle feed, watered the basket toms. Gave the kale and savoy cabbages a liquid feed of Mir@cle Gr@w - I don't usually resort to non-organic feeds, but these need a kick-start as the soil on my new bit of plot isn't up to much yet - I'd rather have non-organic home grown veg than no veg at all.
Could've stayed there all day, as the sun was just breaking through the harr, but at 8.45 i have to jump on my bike..He-Pep!

Happiness is finding the first ripe tomatoes in the Space saver greenhouse.
The outdoor tomatoes all got a hair cut again today so the sun can find the fruit. They also got their weekly feed this morning before the sun came around.
The Bees are more active around the flowers that have yet to turn into fruit. Now we just need the blight to hold off and the little darlings to start turning red like the ones in the greenhouse.

Had an email this morning to say that the 144 winter bedding plug plants I ordered weeks ago would be sent within the next 24 hours - and to give them 4 days to arrive.
They were here before lunch
What I did today turned into potting on 144 plugs - pansies & violas, primulas, stocks and wallflowers and some...............let me think, ahh, I remember, Forgetmenots
I thought I asked you all to stop me ordering more plugs

Wrestled a 100 foot long yellow anaconda hosepipe from my old plot and took it to my new plot. Fixed it up and watered my pumpkins. Along with some work with a stirrup pump I may have a chance of 10th place in the allotment pumpkin competition. (There's only 11 people in it!)
I also took a large tape measure with me and measured my plot. Plot is 100 foot long, 44 foot wide and tapers down to 10 foot at the bottom end. I need to work out where to fit my keyhole bedsMy Majesty made for him a garden anew in order

All indoor jobs here today. It never stopped raining and currently it still is.
Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day.
Having said that, 2 bags for the charity shop, presses are a lot tidier and ironing and laundry up to date.
And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

Popped out shopping and bought some hooks and eyes and some bolts for next year's bean poles.
Turned my compost pile. The thing is the bin it was being turned out of was at the back of the Jungle plot, the one it was being turned into is at the front of the New Territories plot. Had to move the bins as they're bang smack in the middle of the demolition area so back and forth with barrow and trug. Riddled some of it and it's nice stuff.
Picked courgettes, chatted a while Weeded, watered a bit.
Planted out a pot of Neapolitan Garlic, Naples Garlic, Daffodil Garlic, False Garlic, Flowering Onion, Naples Onion, Guernsey Star-of-Bethlehem, White Garlic and Wood Garlic. Not a heavy planting but different names for Allium Neapolitanum. Should start going in a month or so.

Last night - spot sowed some pak choi in the gaps of the last lot that are now at 1-2" high. Weeded around the salsify in the same bed.
Sowed another tray of spring onions.
This morning - turned 4 of my daleks that are now completely full - one has the best compost I've ever seen in it!
Transplanted a load of sorrel seedlings that I'd sowed between two rows of asparagus - for some reason they'd only come up in one spot but there were enough of them to prick out into a row. I've never even tried sorrel, but they look pretty anyway.He-Pep!
