Planted out overwintering onions through weed mypex, this will also house garlic, when I decide to plant out later in october.

I thought someone may have a use for those when I spotted them at the gate. I looked at them and thought "Nah, I've got enough junk on my plot!"

PS Please, leave me a couple of barrow loads of that muck at the gate, didn't have time to get it today!

They might end up back at the gate you never know.

I'll leave off the muck till you've got what you want. No one else seems to be bothering to take it. It'll be a shame for it to be wasted

What size are your holes and spacing's as I'm thinking of doing the same to beat the weeds this year

Went to the Hill and

• picked runner beans - these have been terrible this year, even with a second planting, I have very few, and the ones I have are stringy. Very disappointing
• picked french beans - the normally reliable Emperor of Russia variety are stringy this year too.
• dug a few potatoes - just a kilo from 3 plants, and some of them slugged.
• picked raspberries - ran the gauntlet here as there is a wasps nest underground in redcurrant bed next to the rasps
• took down the pea plants and frame. That's quite close to the redcurrant bed/wasps nest too. I live a dangerous life
• at the two squash beds, I cut three small courgettes, admired the pumpkin, which is growing larger than I would have liked, but there you go and tried to count how many butternut squash there are on the plant. Think it is about 7, but I lost count wading through the foliage

After "Bodging" up a pond filter anti-syphon, I took on board Jay-ell's advice & found a load of Variegated Liriope which was taking over a gravelled area. So I pulled up a few runners, planted them in 2" pots of gravel & placed them on the waterfall to soften the edges. I've plenty more to go on if need be. Should look better once established.........Cheers Jay

I'm loving garden Godzilla Jay-ell.
I've done lots of pottering in the garden but none of the big jobs that actually need doing. So I've done a bit of Weeding, tidying, painting, ripping out and lots of other little odd jobs.

Onion sets
Garlic bulbs
And 100 more spring flowering Tulip bulbs ......

Not a lot today, but I did sort out next years planting plan. Which was tricky because I've rearranged what goes in the each bed not just a bed rotation. Also done a bit more work on the table I'm making.
